Started in 2001, the Dot NAME extension is the single TLD supposed to be for personal sites only. These domains can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are famous by. At the beginning, solely third-level registrations were permitted, so if you desired to purchase john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already bought third-level domains remained operational.

Through our company, you can register your dot NAME domain for an interval between one and ten years. You will be able to update the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer key from the present registrar company and we will renew it after the transfer has been completed. There are no special stipulations on who can acquire a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the objective behind its establishment alive, the Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
